Submissions

Before submitting a paper, authors must read Parts 1, 2, and 3 of the instructions below. To be considered for publication, the Contributions must meet the Minimum Standard described below.

1. Before Submission

Authors are strongly advised to read the Journal's Editorial Policy in the "About the Journal" section before submitting a paper.

2. Minimum Standard

• The CUJ requires authors to include a letter containing all helpful contact information — email address, phone numbers, postal address, etc.
• Submissions can be written in English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, or Italian, formatted to be simple‐spaced with all margins of not less than 25mm (or one inch), an A4 page size, 12-point font, and automatic page numbering.
• Articles will generally be no longer than 8,000 words of the main Text, including a bibliography (though longer pieces of exceptional significance will be considered); the acceptance bar rises with increasing length. Book Reviews are usually no longer than 1,800 words (and will be subject to the same rule about the increasing length); they must engage with books recently published.
• A short but adequately informative abstract (maximum 350 words, minimum 200 words for a full‐length paper) at the beginning of the article is required, followed by 3 to 6 keywords. Of course, the keywords couldn't be words of the title. BOTH: ABSTRACT & KEYWORDS MUST BE ALSO WRITTEN IN ENGLISH (and in the original Language if it is the case).
• Typescripts must be carefully proofread before submission so referees can save time identifying and listing errors.
• Manuscripts may be submitted in a limited range of standard formats, including .doc, .docx, and .rtf. However, authors who write in LaTeX or another format must convert their files to .rtf before submission.
• To facilitate objective refereeing, neither the name(s) of the author(s) nor any institutional affiliation may be shown in the paper itself. Furthermore, all references to the author's work(s) must be disguised (e.g., made in an impersonal and neutral form), with the journal and book titles/publishers suppressed or omitted altogether. Acknowledgements of gratitude must also be omitted. (Self‐identifying references may be restored after the evaluation process is complete.)
• The Editor requires that all the above conditions are met as a minimum standard before the paper is considered and advises authors that footnotes rather than endnotes are more convenient for readers, as is a final consolidated bibliography.

The submission process can only be completed if the author certifies that the manuscript meets this Journal's, Minimum Standard.

3. Journal Style

Only the much less exacting Minimum Standard must be met for assessment purposes. The requirements of Journal Style are only imposed on authors once a paper has been conditionally accepted or unconditionally accepted for publication when it must be supplied in a limited range of formats that the publisher's typesetters can handle, namely.doc, .docx, or. (Authors whose original submission was written in LaTeX  can find help with the conversion process here.) The content must conform to the guidelines below.

Layout Style

The following general pattern must be followed in the production of a final version for the Editor:

Abstract [N.B. As space is at a premium, the abstract must not just repeat passages from the main text's opening.]

Keywords [3 to 6 carefully chosen keywords will maximise the chance of your article's being found in electronic searching. The keywords couldn't be words of the title]

Text Style 

• Substantial quotations (40 words or more) should be indented without quotation marks. Other sources should be enclosed in single quotation marks.
• Format for left justification only and turn off any hyphenation program.
• The year used in the main Text and footnotes should be that of the edition used.
• Anachronism and absurdity (such as "Hegel2001") should be minimised, as far as possible, by using standard academic acronyms, such as GW (Gesammelte Werke) for Hegel's critical edition and indicating in the Bibliography the meaning of the abbreviations cited. Unmemorable acronyms are prohibited.
• References should be given in brackets in the Text whenever possible. Footnotes should be substantive; those merely giving citations should be avoided.
• Citations should appear in the Text in the following forms: (author's surname/s year: page number/s if any) unless the author's name forms part of the sentence.

Bibliography: a final list, in alphabetical order by author, must be formatted according to the APA 7^th Ed—style (https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines).
